Compliance with the myriad of government regulations, whether at Federal, State or local council levels, can be a confusing and tedious affair. Clients (especially those from foreign countries) therefore find it a relief to be able to take advice from us as legal practitioners who can hold their hands and walk them through the maze or, better still, deal with the government officials directly on their behalf. Our experience and knowledge of the local culture and policies are also an asset. At the same time, we make it our aim to acquire a clear understanding of a client’s business and goals so that we can tailor our advice accordingly. If necessary, strategies and long-term roadmaps may be worked out.

Advisory and Audit

Other than the legislation relating to bread-and-butter issues such as licence and permits, the firm also advises on compliance with laws relating to issues such as anti-corruption and business crime, capital markets, competition, corporate governance, e-commerce, fintech, foreign direct investment, healthcare, occupational safety, health & environment, privacy, securities, tax and technology.

Proceedings before Regulatory Authorities

Our work includes assisting clients in appearing before regulatory authorities and statutory bodies on various issues. For example, our dispute resolution team often represents professionals facing investigations and disciplinary proceedings pursuant to the laws regulating their respective practices. In particular, we have represented various clients in proceedings before regulatory authorities having jurisdiction over the water industry, occupational safety and health as well as the construction industry.
